Hypothetical example: a Cavan Monaghan household runs an equine boarding and training facility while one spouse works in aircraft maintenance, and both have been offered something in the United States. Most of the conversation that follows will be about intentions, and almost none of the eventual decision will be. Every requirement in every category is ultimately answered by a document somebody already holds, or by one that does not yet exist. The useful early exercise is to take each requirement and name the specific record that would prove it: a share register, a payroll ledger, a licence certificate, a signed agreement, a bank statement with a matching transfer.
TN, L-1A, L-1B, E-2, EB-5 and the Gold Card framework each rest on facts that have to be evidenced rather than asserted. Citizenship is proved by a document. A qualifying year of employment abroad is proved by payroll and personnel records. Ownership and control are proved by corporate registers and agreements. Capital at risk is proved by an unbroken financial trail. Deciding between routes is largely deciding which of those evidentiary burdens the household is actually in a position to discharge.
Choose what brings you here. Leave with a short list of things to discuss—not another long form to fill out.
Each listed profession carries its own qualification rule, and the certificate has to match that rule.

Build a two-column sheet. On the left, each requirement written as a plain statement of fact. On the right, the exact record that proves it and where that record is today. In family businesses, the facts may be true while the records are thin: real management authority with no written delegation, real corporate relationships with no updated minute book, real capital with no traceable path. That gap is fixable, but only if it is found while there is still time to create or reconstruct the paperwork properly. Working through the sheet also tends to shorten the list of realistic routes, because a requirement nobody can evidence is not an option however well it fits the household's intentions.

A practical plan.
No promises we can’t keep.
Write the plain sentence that would have to be true, without legal vocabulary or hedging.
For every sentence, identify the one document that would establish it and who currently holds it.
Check the wording against the claim; agreements often describe something narrower than people remember.
Create or correct missing records first where they take longest, and keep a note of what changed and why.
A consultation is more productive when it is given documents rather than descriptions. Send what exists — offer letters, corporate records, financial statements, credential certificates — and be explicit about what does not exist yet. A review can then say which records carry the case, which are missing, and which say something different from what the household believes they say. That last category is common and is much better discovered in a review than in an adjudication. Where a document has to be created or corrected, knowing that early also means the work can be done properly and in the ordinary course rather than under pressure.
Find your pathwayFor a Cavan Monaghan enquiry, describe the facts and attach the paperwork that supports each one, noting anything you know to be out of date. Consultation arrangements and the scope of the review are agreed beforehand. This practice operates by remote consultation only: there is no local office and no in-person appointment, so material is reviewed as it is sent rather than brought to a meeting.

A list pairing each requirement with the record that would prove it. It turns a vague eligibility question into a short list of documents to obtain or correct.
It can decide the outcome. Corporate relationships and management authority are proved from registers, resolutions and agreements, so records that lag behind reality need to be brought current properly and honestly.
No. A letter can explain and organise evidence, but it cannot stand in place of the register, the payroll record or the transfer confirmation that establishes the underlying fact.
Send them to the review rather than filter them beforehand. A document that seems irrelevant sometimes answers a requirement, and one that seems helpful sometimes says something narrower than expected.
